Lawmakers call on Gov. Murphy to do more to prevent ‘pop-up parties’ ahead of rumored parties
Eight Republican lawmakers are calling on the Murphy administration to do more to prevent “pop-up parties” at the Jersey Shore -- in a letter to New Jersey acting Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin.

It comes ahead of rumored
parties this weekend in Point Pleasant and Long Branch.
A party on May 21 in Long
Branch drew 5,000 people, leading to more than a dozen arrests.
Gov. Phil Murphy
says resources will be available if and when the parties happen.
