The lawyer for two women who accused Assemblyman Vito Lopez of sexual harassment is now calling for a wider investigation into the case.
The alleged victims' attorney wants authorities to take a closer look at Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver's role in the matter. Lopez resigned from his post as head of the Brooklyn Democratic Party after an ethics committee ruled last week that he had sexually harassed two of his own staffers.
Silver is facing harsh scrutiny for allegedly negotiating $103,000 to settle harassment claims made by other staffers. Silver is denying that there was a cover up.
