Lefferts Place residents say a fire hydrant in their neighborhood has been leaking for about three weeks.
Residents say that after many calls to officials, workers stopped by on Friday and placed a cap on the leaky Lefferts Place fire hydrant. The cap has only slowed the leak though.
A Department of Environmental Protection representative says the hydrant will be repaired. The representative says the hydrant was broken after being illegally opened.
