A new local company is making it easier to deliver online purchases.
For just $5, Parcel hand-delivers orders to homes at a time that works for the recipient. That way, packages that need signatures don't end up back at the post office or at shipment centers.
CEO Jesse Kaplan says that Brooklyn residents are the perfect customers because many people shop online and don't have doormen.
The company has a warehouse in East Williamsburg.
The first step is to sign up for Parcel on its website. Then, Parcel will immediately send an email and a text saying where to send orders. Parcel takes care of the rest.
Parcel launched in September. More than 1,500 customers have already created accounts.
