A local DJ living in an illegal basement apartment beneath Alice in Wonderland day care center in Canarsie was shot and killed Friday morning, police say.
The two suspects fled the scene through a back door.
None of the children at day care were injured. According to reports, the police and day care employees did a great job of keeping the children safe.
