Local leaders are responding this morning to a reported ICE raid in Bushwick that happened earlier this week.

Brooklyn Council Member Jen Gutierrez said in a post on X, "Deeply proud of my Bushwick community and neighbors for standing up and putting their bodies on the line to defend our neighbors."

The council member also added, "NYC is a sanctuary city and ICE is not welcome here. We are also working on getting in touch with the family."

Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso also posted on X saying, "Enough is enough, Brooklyn is not a playground for Trump-sanctioned terror... Bushwick made it clear last night... Ice is not welcome here."

Media reports say the raid happened Tuesday night.

News 12 has reached out to the NYPD and the Department of Homeland Security for more details and is waiting to hear back.
