Local retailers scramble to lure post-holiday shoppers
Concerns about the sagging economy may have left many Brooklyn businesses with lackluster sales this season, forcing them to slash prices in an effort to lure post-holiday shoppers.
The owners of Celine NY in Park Slope say they attribute their relative success this holiday season to drastic discounts. Namely, they decided to reduce the prices of most items at the store to $14.99.
Manager Erika Feliciano advises other retailers to follow her example and keep prices affordable through the end of the year in order to boost sales.
