Teens are behind a new program that pushes people to buy fresh, local produce. The program kicked off in the South Bronx last week. The "Learn it, Grow it, Eat it" youth market on Boston Road and 169th Street is being run by teenagers trying to make a difference. This summer, the city program is allowing the teens to teach younger kids how to take care of vegetable gardens in Morrisania. Afterward, there is a weekly market where the group sells what it grew. They also hold cooking demonstrations and nutrition classes. "Learn it, Grow it, Eat it" offers a similar program during the school year. The youth market will be open every Wednesday until mid-November.
