Long Islanders squeeze in last bits of summer at Tobay Beach

Many people have decided to visit Tobay Beach in the Town of Oyster Bay to celebrate this Labor Day weekend.

Many people have decided to visit Tobay Beach in the Town of Oyster Bay to celebrate this Labor Day weekend.
Beachgoers say the area has been busy and the beach is great way to spend the last moments of summer with family.
“We are here on the bay side just enjoying the end of summer and getting in the water one last time,” said Mike Anajovich, of Plainview.
“We decided to just come to the beach with the kids and enjoy the last few days until they go to school,” said Melissa Bordino of Massapequa.
Town officials say Tobay Beach will remain open next weekend on Sept. 10 and 11.
Lifeguards will be on duty and admission is free for residents.
The town Is also planning a family fun Waterfront Festival at Tobay Marina next Saturday.
For those who can’t get to the beach this weekend, there is still time. Lifeguards will be on duty at Jones, Robert Moses, Sunken Meadow, Wildwood, and Hither Hills in Montauk until Sunday, Sept. 18.
