Extra police officers are on patrol in Coney Island after about a dozen people were arrested Tuesday for looting.
According to authorities, thieves have stolen from several closed-up shops, including a Rite Aid and American Suds on Surf Avenue.
NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly says lighting equipment has also been added in parts of the neighborhood, which is still largely without power.
