The Ditmas Park community celebrated a badly needed facelift at a tot lot known for its flooding issues and defective play equipment.
The renovation at Lieutenant Federico Narvaez Tot Lot cost $1 million. City Councilman Mathieu Eugene secured half of that funding. He says the lot has been on his agenda for some time.
Eugene says spaces like the tot lot are needed in communities, especially in the wake of the pandemic. With a school and library across the street, he says he hopes it will encourage a safe space for children.
