The sky will be lit up over the East River this weekend when the annual Macy’s fireworks show returns with a live audience.
Five barges were seen compiling 65,000 shells for the big show on Sunday--a return to normal after a year without a live audience.
Nearly 2,600 shells will be fired per minute and synchronized to music.
The theme this year is the “Hero Within'' to honor New Yorkers who managed to get through the coronavirus pandemic and its challenges.
There will be viewpoints in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens. They’re asking spectators to check Macy’s website before heading out to find out the exact entry points and any restrictions.
