The postal worker from Brooklyn who says he was wrongly arrested while on duty delivering packages on St. Patrick's Day sat down with News 12 Tuesday to recount his story.
Cellphone video of the incident shows police arresting mailman Glenn Grays after an off-camera dispute. An onlooker can be heard asking, "Why are they doing that to him?"
Grays says he's not sure why either.
"When they placed me under arrest, they pushed me back and forth...they are like, 'Stop resisting,'" Grays says. "I am not resisting. How am I resisting?"
Grays was wearing his uniform and delivering packages in Crown Heights when a car sped by him on March 17. He says he yelled after the car because it almost hit him, unaware that it was an unmarked police vehicle.
The plainclothes officers returned and got into a verbal confrontation with Grays that ended in his arrest.
NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton says the incident is under internal review.
Grays has not yet returned to work. He says he had never been arrested before.
