A makeshift memorial has been set up outside a Brooklyn deli Friday where an 80-year-old employee was shot and killed earlier this week.
Mark Thomas, 41, was arrested Thursday after police say he fatally shot 80-year-old Abdulla Yafaee, a worker at 797 Deli on Stanley Avenue in East New York following an argument Tuesday.
According to police, Yafaee refused to sell a can of beer to Thomas who was 50 cents short on the purchase.
The two got into an argument, and Thomas left the store only to return a short while later and shoot Yafaee once in the chest, investigators say.
Yafaee was rushed to the hospital and later pronounced dead.
Thomas faces charges of second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
