Man arrested, charged with operating Brooklyn sex ring on Pennsylvania Avenue

Queens resident Douglas Welch, also known as "Paradise," has been charged with operating a sex trafficking ring on Pennsylvania Ave in Brooklyn.

Queens resident Douglas Welch, also known as "Paradise," has been charged with operating a sex trafficking ring on Pennsylvania Ave in Brooklyn.
Welch recruited women and used violence to force victims into having sex, according to court documents.
In one incident, he used a baseball bat and attacked a victim for not wanting to engage in prostitution.
Breon Peace, the United States attorney for the Eastern District of New York, announced Tuesday that Welch was charged with sex trafficking by force, sex trafficking conspiracy, interstate prostitution and promotion of prostitution.
