Police arrested and charged 27-year-old Gabriel Hernandez for a homicide on Monday morning in Sunset Park.

Authorities say around 5 a.m. on Monday, 31-year-old Giovanni Rivera was found shot multiple times inside 5002 3rd Ave.

Residents in the area tell News 12 they believe an illegal club was operating at that address.

Details about what exactly led up to the shooting are still unclear. Hernandez is charged with manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.

The sister of the deceased told a News12 reporter her family is still shaken up and looking for answers. For now, they are hoping to raise money for funeral services back in Mexico.
