A 2-year-old cold case in Spring Valley has new developments.
Spring Valley police arrested 20-year-old Jack Ramirez, of Spring Valley, Wednesday morning and charged him with murder in the second degree, a class A felony.
Juvenson Paul, 28, of Spring Valley, was driving his silver BMW back in January 2020 when he was shot and killed. He subsequently crashed into a house on Prospect Street.
Police tell News 12 they had very little to work with.
“There was very limited information, evidence, witnesses at the time, and the case went cold for about a year and a half. As a police department, we've done a tremendous amount of work on it, whether it's interviewing people, physical evidence, electronic evidence," says Spring Valley Police Department Detective Yakov Polowin.
All that work culminated in the arrest and arraignment.
Ramirez is no stranger to police. He was arrested at the Dutchess County Jail, where he was serving time for an unrelated weapons charge. He is now in the Rockland County Jail awaiting trial.
