A man convicted of killing a Levittown grandmother has been sentenced to life behind bars without the possibility of parole.
Benjamin Lopez was found guilty in July of attacking 73-year-old Lorraine Pizzichemi with a machete in 2017.
The incident happened after Lopez and another man, DeAngelo Gill, broke into her home on Newbridge Road.
The Nassau County District Attorney's Office says Lopez, 27, went to the house to steal a former friend's money and drugs.
Gill was sentenced in 2019 to 17 years to life in prison for his role in the murder.
