Man critically hurt in shooting at McDonald's drive-thru
A man sitting in a vehicle at a McDonald's drive-thru in East New York was critically injured when a shooter walked up to the car and opened fire.
It happened at the restaurant on Jamaica Avenue shortly before 4 p.m.
Police say the 27-year-old victim was sitting in the passenger's seat of a vehicle at the drive-thru when the suspect approached the car and fired off seven shots.
The passenger was struck in the back and arm.
Police say the driver, who was not hit, drove more than half a mile to Bushwick Avenue and Furman Avenue, where the victim was picked up and rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
Police have not yet identified a suspect or motive in the case. It's unclear if there was any prior history between the shooter or victim, or if it was a random attack.
The victim’s identity has not been released.
