Police say a Brownsville man was gunned down in front of his mother early Wednesday morning.

Neighbors put together a memorial for Leonard Reddick, also known as "EJ." Family members say the 29-year-old avid boxer just graduated from a culinary program and seemed to be on a good path in life.

Police say Reddick was shot in the chest outside his home on Union Street in front of his mother after an argument with another person. He was pronounced dead at Brookdale Hospital.

Family members say they hope the suspect surrenders to authorities.
