A man has built a unique treehouse in the backyard of his brownstone in Carroll Gardens, and he hopes to be able to rent it out.
The two-story, 90-square-foot treehouse was constructed using recycled wood over the summer by Gennero Brooks-Church. His children are having lots of fun playing inside of it, but they may have to start sharing it soon.
Brooks-Church wants to rent out the treehouse using home rental service Airbnb. He's hoping to get $200 per night for it, if it's legal to do so in the borough.
Brooks-Church says the treehouse could appeal to people who like "glamping," or glamorous camping. He says the structure sleeps three people comfortably.
The treehouse even comes equipped with a glass floor. Brooks-Church is hoping to install a pond underneath it filled with fish, to add an extra wilderness feel.
If he's legally permitted to rent out the treehouse, Brooks-Church said he would look to do it after the winter, when temperatures are warmer.
