A manhunt is underway following an overnight stabbing at a Brownsville housing complex.

It happened Tuesday, just before midnight, at the Van Dyke Houses on Sutter Avenue.

A 43-year-old man was stabbed in the shoulder and taken to Brookdale Hospital. He’s expected to be OK.

Authorities say they’re looking for a man last seen wearing a blue hoodie, blue jeans and gray sneakers.

So far, it’s not clear what led up to the stabbing.

This comes just days after a separate stabbing nearby on Dumont Avenue, where three people were hurt Sunday. Police have confirmed that the two incidents are not connected.

Lidia Rivera says safety measures should be taken before something happens again.

“More policing. Or if we have on the first floor more security guards. I see that we have the booth, but I don’t see that we use it," said Rivera.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers.
