A Brooklyn man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for shooting his roommate and some of the officers responding to that roommate's 911 call.

The man responsible, Ridhwaan Abdur Rashid, shot Damon Lindsay in their Hawthorne Street apartment in 2021. Two responding officers were also injured after Rashid opened fire on them.

All three people who were injured in the shooting incident survived.

Rashid pleaded guilty to second-degree attempted murder on Sept. 26.
