Man shot and killed on Marcy Avenue in Bed-Stuy
It happened just before midnight in front of 541 Marcy Ave.
A man was shot and killed late Thursday night outside an apartment building on Marcy Avenue in Bed-Stuy.
It happened just before midnight in front of 541 Marcy Ave. Police say the 30-year-old man was hit several times. He was taken to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Video from the scene shows emergency crews at the scene, neighbors watching from the sidewalk, and detectives using flashlights to search the ground for clues. Evidence markers were spotted on the sidewalk.
So far, no one has been arrested. Police say the shooter ran off wearing a black hoodie and black shorts with flowers on them.
This marks at least the ninth shooting so far this year in this part of Brooklyn, according to NYPD stats from the 79th Precinct.
