Police are investigating why a man who was shot on Legion Street in Brownsville ran from the crime scene after they arrived.
Police say a 22-year-old man was shot outside of a home. They say when they arrived on the scene, the victim ran three blocks to a building on Rockaway Parkway.
Police finally caught up to the victim and sent him off to the hospital, where he is expected to be OK.
Residents in the area say there are gang members who live nearby.
