Officers were notified of the shooting at 275 Jackson Ave. just before 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
The 39-year-old man was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull before police arrived, the NYPD says.
Police say the shooting happened across the street from the NYCHA Cooper Houses.
