A man was shot and killed at 2181 Barnes Ave. Sunday night, police say.
Authorities responded to a 911 call placed just before 11 p.m. When they arrived, they found a 30-year-old man who had been shot in the chest. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A surveillance camera across the street caught the incident on tape. The footage shows two men stepping out of a Toyota. One man pulls out a gun and shoots the victim, who then tries to run but collapses to the ground.
People in the area say their neighborhood, which has a reputation as a quiet area, keeps getting worse, and they don?t feel safe living there.
?About a week ago I saw this lady get hit and taken money from,? neighbor Charlie Orge says. ?He just beat her and ran across the parkway ? it?s not really safe right now.?
Other neighbors say they are purchasing extra locks for their doors and demanding additional security in the area.
No arrests have been made in the Sunday night shooting. Police say they plan to watch the surveillance tape to see if they can identify the suspects.
