A good Samaritan who tried to stop robbers in their tracks at an East Flatbush deli was shot and killed Monday.
Police say Damion Francis was a customer at a deli located at the intersection of Church and Remsen avenues when he saw two men attempting to rob the place.
Surveillance video of the incident shows Francis trying to stop the two men, one of whom had a gun.
Francis was shot by the man seen in the video wearing a red hooded sweatshirt. The man then reached over the counter, took money out of the cash register and ran off with the other suspect.
Sources tell News 12 that the employees who were working at the deli at the time of the shooting were so shaken that they have since quit their jobs.
Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
