A 30-year-old man is recovering after police say he was shot and robbed Tuesday morning in Crown Heights.
Investigators just released surveillance images of the person they’re trying to find in connection to the shooting. The images show a man wearing a red baseball hat, black hooded jacket, white shirt, black pants and multicolored sneakers. His face can be seen clearly in the video as he walks into a bodega.
Police say this happened just before 11 a.m. Tuesday in front of 1299 Lincoln Pl., just off Schenectady Avenue.
According to investigators, the victim was standing outside when another man walked up and started arguing with him. Police say that argument escalated — and the man pulled out a gun and shot the victim once in the stomach.
Investigators say the shooter then took the victim’s cellphone and ran north on Schenectady Avenue toward Saint John’s Place.
Paramedics rushed the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County. He is listed as stable and is expected to recover.
Neighbors say the violence is frustrating and scary.
“You can hardly just walk out your house, you know what I'm saying? Without getting robbed. People shooting each other,” said Rita Watkins, who lives nearby.
Police are asking anyone who recognizes the person in the newly released images to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
