A 27-year-old man is recovering after being stabbed early Friday morning inside a building in East New York, according to police.

Officers say the incident happened around 1:17 a.m. inside 245 Wortman Ave. The victim was stabbed once in the back and was taken to Brookdale Hospital by EMS. He is listed in stable condition.

Police are still searching for the suspect, described only as a man who took off in an unknown direction. At this point, investigators haven’t said whether the two men knew each other.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
