Police are searching for a man who they say is responsible for shooting a 28-year-old man in Sunset Park.

Authorities say the man fired multiple rounds toward an unknown target just after 6 a.m. Sunday in front of 214 48th St., as the victim exited a nearby building and was struck in the leg.

Police sources say the man was not the intended target of the gunfire, which was aimed toward a group of people nearby.

The man was taken to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn and is expected to recover.

Authorities say the shooter ran from the scene traveling westbound on 48th Street and was last seen wearing a black jacket, a black t-shirt, black sneakers and blue pants.
