Police are searching for the man they say is responsible for a hate crime attack aboard an L train at the Lorimer Street subway station.

They say the man approached a 24-year-old man on the northbound train just before 5 a.m. Sunday and made anti-LGBTQIA+ statements toward him.

Authorities say the man followed the 24-year-old off the train, displayed a knife and punched him multiple times throughout his body.

The victim suffered minor injuries and denied medical attention.

Police say the attacker ran from the scene onto a northbound L train and was last seen wearing all black.

Anyone with information is urged to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
