Man wanted for scamming woman out of $40,000 in Midwood

The incident happened on Monday between Avenue L and Ocean Avenue when the woman got an email claiming her account was involved in fraudulent activity.

Police are looking for the man behind a scam that cost a 66-year-old woman $40,000 in Midwood.

The incident happened on Monday between Avenue L and Ocean Avenue when the woman got an email claiming her account was involved in fraudulent activity.

The woman met up with the man, handed over her payment information, believing that he would resolve the alleged fraudulent activity.

That is when the man sped off in a 2025 silver Hyundai Tuscon.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
