Some businesses along Coney Island Avenue lost power for a few hours Monday after some manhole fires.
Some owners had to use their generators and other businesses had to close up shop do to the outage. Business owners say they lost power shortly after smoke started billowing out of manhole covers.
Con Ed officials say more than a dozen customers were affected by the power outage. They say the power was restored within four hours. An investigation is now underway into the smoldering cables that may have caused the manhole fires.
