On Friday, New York City Mayor Eric Adams announced a suspension of the Key to NYC initiative starting Monday, March 7. However, there are still some places where face coverings are required despite Mayor Adams' mask lift for indoor businesses.
The decision comes after Gov. Kathy Hochul's lift on the statewide mask mandate in schools.
Locations in New York City that still require to wear a mask include:
1. Mass transit
2. Airports
3. Broadway theaters
4. Health care facilities like hospitals and nursing homes
5. Adult care centers
6. Correctional facilities
7. Homeless shelters
