Family and friends of 15-year-old Zackery Nazario marched on the Williamsburg Bridge on Tuesday to mark one year since his subway surfing death.
Zackery Nazario was the teen who was killed while subway surfing on a northbound J train as it crossed the bridge.
His loved ones say the march was to bring attention to the need for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority to increase safety measures.
Advocates emphasized locking the doors on subway cars so that teenagers who are heavily influenced by the social media trend don't suffer the same fate as Nazario.
