A group of marchers is preparing for this year's West Indian American Day Parade in East Flatbush with flashy costumes.
They include bright colors and risque cuts, but they come at a steep cost. The handmade costumes can cost between $200 and $500.
The marchers say the costumes themselves set the vibe for the parade.
Informal groups of marchers are divided into "bands." The "Boom Mas" band expects about 600 people to march in their section.
This year, the Boom Mas marchers say they plan on wearing costumes inspired by Greek gods and goddesses.
