The New York Marine Rescue Center says a rare whale that washed up on Plumb Beach in Brooklyn earlier this week later died.
Officials say euthanasia was determined to be the best course of action after the whale kept resurfacing on the sand.
The whale was a young adult male measuring 9 feet in length. A number of parasites were also found on it.
