In his 2009 State of the Borough address Thursday night, Borough President Marty Markowitz outlined his plan to help Brooklyn out of the economic crisis.
Markowitz pledged to reach out to employers about moving their operations to Brooklyn by holding an economic roundtable with business leaders and employers. The borough president also announced plans for a new school focused on global economics called Brooklyn Academy of Global Finance, at M.S. 57.
Markowitz told the audience he?d like to continue to serve as borough president for four more years, if re-elected. Last year, the two-term limit for borough presidents was extended.
