Investigators are working to determine the cause of a fire that tore through a Borough Park gas station convenience store while employees and customers were inside.
The gas station has been closed for hours since the fire broke out around 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
The Department of Buildings and the FDNY are investigating, and News 12 is told a partially collapsed roof and broken windows were reported at the station.
The owner of the store, who did not want to go on camera, tells News 12 that about five employees and three customers were inside when the fire broke out.
No injuries were reported.
The owner tells News 12 he believes that it may have been electrical — possibly coming from an electric panel inside the store.
