Pedestrian in Bay Shore killed in hit-and-run crash:  The incident happened around 9 p.m. when the victim was crossing Sunrise Highway near the Fifth Avenue bridge when he was struck by a Nissan Altima. Police say the car was a rental and the driver took off on foot.
Millstone contractors renovate veteran's home for freeA group of Millstone Township contractors came together to renovate parts of a veteran's home for free.The exterior of the house had leaks in the roof, decaying steps and a variety of other work. Contractors replaced the roof, put up a new deck, took care of landscaping and even added some surprise renovations for the veteran.
Police: Person stabbed near Mount Vernon bank parking lot:  A person was stabbed near a Chase Bank parking lot in Mount Vernon on Saturday, police say. The incident happened at the corner of West First Street and Fifth Avenue. The victim ran toward Fourth Avenue for medical assistance.
Stratford artist creates scavenger hunt with 'happy stones':  Nicolette Pilla says she's creating "happy stones" in her home art studio and then hiding them. She says she finds the stones at beaches and along hiking trails, then brings them home to paint colorful designs and hides them at places like Walnut Beach, the Seawall and Long Brook Park.
Police search for suspects in Bronx hotel shooting:  One man fired at least two shots before he and another man took off running. News 12 is told the incident happened just before 3 a.m. on April 24 at the 7 Days Hotel in Unionport. Police say a 19-year-old man was shot in the arm and stomach.
