Sinai physical education teacher keeps kids moving while exploring Long Island: A Mount Sinai physical education teacher has come up with a unique way to keep his students connected to the great outdoors. Eric Strovink, along with his colleagues in the Mount Sinai district, are creating elaborate videos for their students to keep moving and discovering Long Island during quarantine. Strovink explores places like the Tesla lab in Shoreham, the RCA property of Rocky Point and Greenport.
Bridgeport school children create newspaper to be placed inside time capsule: School children in Bridgeport are working to create a newspaper that will be placed inside of a time capsule. Kids from the Thomas Hooker Elementary Lighthouse virtual afterschool program have been learning art and journalism skills. They are using what they learned to work on a project that aims to make a record of the community's experience during the pandemic. Instructor Iyaba Mandingo says he thought a newspaper seemed the perfect way to record history.
