Stony Brook scientists unearth bizarre ancient mammalStony Brook scientists say a bizarre 66-million-year-old mammal has been discovered in Madagascar by a team of international researchers led by Dr. David Krause, senior curator of vertebrate paleontology at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science and professor emeritus at Stony Brook University.
Renovation project uncovers original flooring at City Hall in Jersey City:  An overdue renovation project had led to a historical discovery in Jersey City.When crews lifted the old vinyl linoleum floors from the hallway, Mayor Steven Fulop says that they expected to find trash. But what they found was the original floor tiles.
Police identify man found at Leonard Park in Mount Kisco:  County police say 71-year-old Amadeo Rodriguez, of Danbury, Connecticut, was found dead on Friday. A police sergeant spotted the body floating in the pond.
Fire leaves a dozen people homeless in MiddletownFire officials says the blaze erupted at the Park Hill Apartment complex around 7 p.m. There is no word on a cause. 
Black Lives Matter chairman arrested at Memorial outside Melrose Houses:  According to a post on Instagram, it all started when officers showed up to a memorial outside the Melrose Houses. The video, now going viral, shows Hawk Newsome, the president of Black Lives Matter, speaking to officers for apparently disrupting a memorial. Newsome in the video can be heard saying “we’re standing six feet away,” while the police officer is trying to disperse the crowd. Minutes later, he is handcuffed and taken into custody.
