Mayor Eric Adams issued a drought watch in New York City today following an extraordinary dry October.
“I have ordered city agencies to update water conservation plans. And now, we're asking New Yorkers to do their part as well,” the mayor said in a social media post.
He linked to several water saving tips on the city’s website.
October had near-record warmth, with more than 12 days where daytime high temperatures were 70 degrees or above.
Typically, for the five major regions of the tri-state, temperatures are usually within the middle to lower 60s through October.
