Mayor Eric Adams and his team responded to reports that one of his former aides is cooperating with the FBI in an investigation into his election finances.
Published reports say Rana Abbasova divulged information about Turkey's involvement in in financing Adams' 2021 campaign.
"It's been almost seven months since Ms. Abbasova began speaking with the authorities after we proactively reported certain conduct," said Lisa Zornberger, chief counsel to the mayor and City Hall. "There has not been one charge brought since."
Abbasova's home was raided by the FBI back in November.
The mayor's office says she is currently on unpaid leave from her position at Adams' international affairs office.
Adams maintains he has not committed any crimes.
