Mayor Eric Adams announced the STOP. LET THEM CROSS initiative Wednesday aimed to reduce traffic deaths across New York City.
Adams says the campaign includes reimagining 1,000 intersections all over the city. He said that includes traffic calming measures, better NYPD enforcement and doubling down on violations.
The mayor added that the NYPD will step up enforcement of traffic laws, specifically when drivers fail to yield to pedestrians.
