Mayor Eric Adams announced on Monday that over 12,000 families have been served across the five boroughs since the city expanded its infant health and doula services.
The $34 million initiative has been offering support services and referrals to new and expecting parents for the last two years.
The investment has brought more trained health workers, doulas, lactation consultants and other services to the new and expecting parents at their homes or virtually.
