According to the mayor’s office, jobs are up and crime is down. New York City has seen a decline in five of the seven major crime categories – most notably, a 25% drop in shootings and an 11% drop in homicides.
In that time frame, 282,000 private-sector jobs and 44,000 new businesses have been created.
Mayor Adams says that more work needs to be done in the city – particularly regarding the asylum seeker crisis and providing not only food, clothing and shelter, but aiding migrants in submitting work documentation and other important paperwork for their stays in NYC.
