Mayor Bill de Blasio said Monday that the city will be offering free tickets, memberships and other deals to residents who receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

During his daily coronaviru briefing, de Blasio said the city has given out more doses of the coronavirus vaccine than the entire population of Massachusetts.

More than 7 million doses have been administered in the city, and de Blasio is now focusing on those who are still on the fence when it comes to the vaccination.

For that reason, the city is adding a new incentive into the vaccination efforts.

"We're going to be giving out the details in the next few days, but from this point on there will be many, many opportunities to get great, great prizes when you get vaccinated," de Blasio said

He said people can expect more mobile unit vaccination pop-ups with the goal of making it easier, fun and local to get the vaccine as hospitals admissions continue to drop.

All city public libraries have also been given the green light to reopen and welcome back New Yorkers, which means people can go back and browse the aisles and use public computers.

According to data, the city is reporting the lowest positivity rate it has seen in the last six months.
