Mayor
Eric Adams, community leaders and advocates came together Friday for the grand
opening of a brand-new 14-story property in Flatbush.
The
255 affordable housing units available in the Caton Flats are aimed toward those in low- and
medium-income households.
The
project hopes to continue bringing more vendors and customers to the Flatbush
Central Caribbean Marketplace, another initiative spearheaded by multiple city
agencies.
With
plenty of new vendors, there are still legacy business owners there, including
fruit stands that sell jackfruit, sugar cane, and coconut juice.
